Flexiflips are great when knitting small diameters in the round  - such as a sock or a sleeve.  When you use Flexiflips, it is a hybrid between using two circular needles and double points.  One half of your project's stitches are on one needle and the other half of the stitches are on another needle.  Then you knit the stitches off in the round with a third needle.

Flexiflips are a particularly great choice to use when knitting Scandinavian mittens which usually have a pattern on one side of a mitten and a different design on the other side: one needle holds all the stitches for one design and the second needle holds all the stitches for the other design, making it easier to see the design as well as keeping consistent tension.

These metal needles are approximately 8" tip to tip, are flexible in the center, and have a Turbo tip (less pointy) on one end and a Rocket tip (pointy) on the other, so you will always have the right needle!

Made in Germany. They come with a lifetime guarantee.

Sock answers

Making socks has never been easier than on the Flexiflip needles. I am new to sock knitting and have had to work with patterns that call for double points or Magic loop getting them organized for these needles, but it is well worth the effort. More experienced sock knitters may automatically know how to arrange the stitches from various patterns without rewriting them. There is a You Tube video that goes into every detail about how to use them that I found helpful. I did not have success with a toe-up pattern I tried but cuff-down is perfect with these needles. I ordered several of various sizes and know they will be well worth the investment. I first heard of them awhile back from a yarn shop in SanFrancisco and am so happy Heavenly Yarns stocks them!
