6/8 Heather is JaggerSpun's newest yarn line debuting in early autumn of 2017. It is the same yarn as their 3/8 Heather, just doubled to make a heavy worsted/light aran weight yarn. Customers have told us that they love this yarn and that it is not prone to pilling.
The 100 gram hanks have 166 yards. We like this yarn knit at 4.5 stitches per inch on a #8. The label suggests a gauge of between 16 - 20 stitches per 4" on needle sizes 7-9 US. This yarn is a fabulous sweater yarn and can be used for most any other pattern that asks for a worsted or light aran weight yarn.
Although not pictured, this yarn is available in off-white called Edelweiss on the drop down menu.
JaggerSpun has been producing spun yarns since the 1880's when Uriah Jagger arrived from England and established a worsted spinning operation in the Mousam Valley of southern Maine. Since then, they have produced the yarns for the wholesale commercial markets. Putting yarn up in skeins, to provide stock to retail yarn shops, is new to them.
Hand washing is recommended.
