Plymouth Yarn has been a family-owned American yarn company since 1964, sold exclusively through local yarn shops. Our selection ranges from affordable, easy-care Encore blends to pure superwash merino, alpaca and alpaca-blend yarns, and a few specialty fibers like cotton and merino-silk-bamboo.

Encore is Plymouth's workhorse line — a wool-acrylic blend available here in worsted, chunky, and super bulky weights. The acrylic content keeps it machine washable and budget-friendly, making it a practical choice for blankets, kids' garments, and any project where easy care matters as much as feel. Plymouth Select Superwash Merino takes a different approach: pure superwash merino in DK, worsted, and chunky weight, for knitters who want 100% wool softness with machine washableconvenience.

Beyond those two core lines, we also carry a mix of Plymouth's fiber-specific specialty yarns — alpaca and alpaca blends prized for warmth and drape, cotton blends for warm-weather projects, and finer luxury blends that add silk or bamboo for extra sheen.
