Junction Fiber Mill

Junction Fiber Mill is a small mill in White River Junction, Vermont, founded by two friends who also raise sheep. Their Making Tracks yarn is 100% American wool, hand-dyed and spun in-house with a distinctive gradual color-shift built right into the strand.

Making Tracks is spun from a blend of fine Merino, Targhee, and Corriedale wool sourced from American flocks, then hand-dyed and spun at the mill in small batches. The color-shifting effect comes from dyeing individual strands before spinning them together, which creates a gradual marl rather than a solid or speckled colorway — a look that reads especially well in colorwork and mosaic knitting, or knit on its own for subtle, shifting color. Available in Sport or heavy DK.

Because each skein is hand-dyed in small batches, there are no matched dye lots — some color variation between skeins of the same colorway is part of the yarn's character rather than a flaw. This is a non-superwash wool, so hand washing is recommended for finished pieces.
