We used Bartlettyarns' 2 ply worsted to make our Harmony Mittens. This yarn is a sturdy outerwear yarn and we are stocking their new 2016 colorways. Each skein has 210 yards and knits as a heavy worsted/light aran weight (4.5 sts. per inch on a US #8 needle).
Bartlettyarns has been producing yarn in Maine since 1821 when Ozias Bartlett founded it in Harmony. It sits along side Higgins Stream in a vintage mill building that holds the last remaining working spinning mule in the United States.
We wrote the Harmony Mitten pattern for this yarn and named it that because the thumb gusset is in "harmony" with the lifeline on the palm of your hand. Also, Bartlettyarns is located in Harmony, Maine. Read more about this popular pattern on Ravelry. Fiber of Maine subscribers received this pattern and yarn in their October 2016 mailing.
