Collection: Peace Fleece

Peace Fleece began in 1985 as a Maine farmer's effort to build connection during the Cold War, blending American and Soviet wool into a single yarn under the motto "warm wool from a Cold War."  We carry both their worsted/aran and DK weight wool-mohair blends.

Peace Fleece no longer sources Russian wool, and has since shifted its sourcing to American wool and mohair, working with Navajo Nation wool producers, while keeping its founding spirit of "wool with a purpose." The yarn itself is a wool-mohair blend, which gives it a bit of rustic texture and halo alongside wool's warmth and elasticity — a good match for classic sweaters, mittens, and outerwear where you want durability with some visual character.

This is a non-superwash wool blend, so hand washing is recommended for finished pieces to preserve the fabric's shape and texture over time.
