ontheround is hand-dyed by Rachel Jones just down the coast in Thomaston, Maine. Our selection includes Nimble Sock, a superwash merino-nylon sock base, and Plush DK, a next-to-skin-soft superwash merino, including Precipice — a colorway dyed exclusively for us to mark Jackie's one year shop anniversary.

Rachel Jones hand-dyes ontheround yarn in small batches, giving each colorway the kind of depth and subtle variation that comes from dyeing by hand. Nimble Sock is a superwash merino-nylon blend built for durability, a natural choice for socks and other high-wear accessories, while Plush DK is a pure superwash merino with a soft, luxurious hand well suited to garments worn close to the skin.

Precipice, our exclusive anniversary colorway, is available across both bases — a way to bring home a piece of ontheround's work made specifically for Heavenly Yarns. As with most hand-dyed yarn, buying enough for a whole project at once and alternating skeins as you knit helps even out any natural color variation between skeins.
