Collection: Kelbourne Woolens

Founded by two knitters, Courtney Kelley and Kate Gagnon Osborn, Kelbourne Woolens has been designing yarn since 2008 out of Philadelphia. Their yarns lean classic and unfussy, including heathered 100% wool bases and a cotton-linen blend built for warm-weather knitting.

Kelbourne Woolens designs yarn with a heritage sensibility — classic weights, heathered colorways, and fibers chosen for durability as much as softness. Scout, a DK-weight, 100% wool yarn, is spun from highland wool (a Corriedale-Merino cross) rather than pure merino, giving it more strength and structure alongside a soft, heathered finish. It's a good match for classic sweaters, cables, and textured stitches. Mojave takes a different direction, blending fine plies of cotton and linen into a lightweight sport-to-DK base with strong stitch definition, suited to warm-weather garments.

The Kelbourne Woolen yarns are non-superwash, which gives finished garments more structure and memory over time but generally means hand washing rather than machine washing — check the individual product page for specific care instructions.
