Wool in the Woods is a micro farm in Jackson, Maine. It is a small flock of Romney sheep and angora goats. Romney sheep tend to be calm and friendly. Their wool is versatile and durable.
The light and warm medium grey skeins are blended with approximately 25% mohair - the fleece of the angora goats.
The light grey skeins weigh approximately 100 grams (3.5 oz.) and have 250 yards and we consider these a dk weight yarn.
We gauged the warm medium grey skeins at 4.5 - 4 sts. to the inch on a US 6 - 7 (4 - 4.5mm) needle. These skeins are 200 yards and range between 4 to 4.25 oz., and so we consider these to be a heavy vorsted weight yarn.
