These luscious skeins come to us from Integrity Farm in Monroe, Maine. This yarn is almost impossible to find, because the breed is so rare. We went to Integrity Farm in July of 2020 and made a blog post where you can read more about this sheep breed.
Wensleydale yarn should be soft, silky and have a beautiful luster - just like our batch. Since the fiber length can be up to 12" long, it is likely to wear beautifully for a long time. This yarn could become an heirloom sweater or accessory.
We gauged this yarn as a aran/chunky weight. We got a knitting gauge of 3.5 sts. to the inch on a US #8 needle. Unless otherwise noted, skeins are 100-105 grams. The white skeins has approximately 115 yards. The warm grey has 130 yards; the dark grey 127 yds.
