Romney sheep tend to be calm and friendly. Their wool is versatile and their fleeces can range from a coarse to a fine fiber. The coarser fleeces make great and durable outerwear garments. We think this run of Romney from Aroostook County would make a lovely sweater or mitts!
The natural white skeins are approximately 160 yards/3.2-3.4 ounces, and would be considered a heavy worsted weight. The fleece is from Rivercroft Farm in Starks and spun at Aroostook Fiberworks.
