Entrelac is a knitting technique that produces a textured, diamond-shaped pattern by knitting interconnected squares in two different orientations.  Sound confusing?  It makes sense once you try, and you'll have the guidance of a seasoned knitting instructor to help you understand this clever technique.

This three hour introduction to Entrelac knitting will teach you all you need to know to complete a project with this technique.

Students will learn a crochet cast on, to knit from right to left, and pick up stitches. A simple scarf pattern will be used to learn the technique and examples of how the technique may be used will be discussed.

Skill level: Must be able to confidently knit and purl.

  • Instructor: Erica Schlueter, local knitwear designer.
  • Materials: Pattern will be supplied. We recommend three skeins (327yards/300m) of a one skein of a variegated yarn with long color repeat and similar wight to Noro Kureyon, and size US 8 knitting needles (straight needles recommended).  Students will get a 10% discount on materials.
  • Minimum of 3 students, Maximum of 6
