Ceramic Buttons by Betka Pottery
These high-fire ceramic buttons are handmade by a knitter for knitters.
They are made with smooth white stoneware, and either pressed with a custom made stamp or imprinted with coreopsis leaves. After the first firing, the fronts are brushed with a glossy glaze which highlights the texture. The backs are left unglazed.
The three large buttons are approximately 7/8" in diameter, the medium stripes & dots are approximately 3/4", and the two small ones are approximately 5/8".
Each button is unique, durable and strong. For best results, wash by hand or with garment turned inside out on gentle.
Betka Pottery is the small, Belfast, Maine pottery studio of Liz Deane.
