This Finnsheep yarn comes to us from Aroostook County, where the sheep are raised and their fiber processed and spun into yarn.
Each 3.5 ounce skein has approximately 200 yards. We like the fabric this yarn made when we knit it on a US 6 needle (4mm); it knit at 5 sts. to the inch.
Finnsheep wool offers a nice combination of softness and durability, with a little bit of luster. If you are not up for knitting or crocheting a lovely sweater, one skein of each color would be fabulous for a simple colorwork hat or mittens. You should get a least two hats or two pair of mittens with two skeins.
The beautiful blue is indigo dyed. It is hand dyed by Sheepscot Harbor Yarns in Edgecomb, Maine.
