Mohair Rolags and Curly Locks from Galloping Crow Farm

$ 5.00

Galloping Crow Farm is a small farm on the banks of the Sheepscot River in Palermo. It has a small flock of SPOILED registered colored angora goats. Owner Rebecca, may have to take the blame for their standard of living!

The goats are sheared twice a year, in April and October. The goats produce a soft, curly fiber called mohair. Rebecca washes the fiber with dish soap, hand dyes some of the fiber and sets it with vinegar, and then hand cards it into rolags for use in spinning. Both rolags and locks have a beautiful sheen.

The rolags also work great for locker hooking, and the curly locks for hair on dolls or beards on holiday stockings. The embellishment possibilities with these locks are endless.

The carded rolags come in generous 3 ounce packages (approximately 12-16 rolags).  The curly locks come in a very generous 5 ounce bag!

The dyed rolags come in small batches so you will want to check back frequently or not hesitate when you see a luscious color!
