This super bulky yarn is lightly twisted and each skein is four ounces/113 grams and contains 80 yards. The yarn can be knit on US #13- #17 needles. For our Dexter Mittens, our gauge was 2.25 stitches per inch (9 sts.=4") on a US #13 needle, although a sweater would be lovely on a US #15 needle (N hook) and a cowl on a US #15 or US #17 needle (P hook). If you live in a rural setting, we strongly suggest not to use the Natural (off white) colorway to make mittens.
Bartlettyarns has been producing yarn in Maine since 1821 when Ozias Bartlett founded it in Harmony. It sits along side Higgins Stream in a vintage mill building that holds the last remaining working spinning mule in the United States.
