Artist and knitter Peggy Clark Lumpkins takes us into her fanciful world with these delightful knitting-inspired notecards.  All are printed on archival paper from original oil paintings on canvas, and are blank inside for your own message.

Knitting Goose Rocks Beach (4" x 7 1/2") imagines a dreamlike knitscape at the beach. Knitting at Popham (5" x 7") tells the story of a thieving seagull, and Knitting Bees (5" x 7") shows us what a lily might knit with her long anthers.

The cards are sealed in a clear sleeve with an envelope.  They are printed in Bangor, Maine.

Peggy Clark Lumpkins has been a painter for 50 years. She studied at The San Francisco Academy of Art and at Pratt Institute. She knew what she wanted and needed to paint, so she took a leave of absence from school and never looked back.

"The clearest way for me to say how I feel about what I see is to paint it. There are no words to say everything as clearly as I can with my brush and colors."

She moved to Brownville, Maine, in 1987, with her husband to build their house and gardens, and raise their two sons inside the embrace of art. Her children often accompanied her as she set up her easel somewhere on the coast of Maine. Even though they are out on their own now, she still feels their warmth and laughter when she goes out painting.
